Theme 5, Software Platforms and Continuous Engineering, organized a workshop together with industry partner TetraPak concerning data driven DevOps.

12 participants strong, theme 5 visited TetraPak. After a tour and seeing the product discovery room at the facilities in Lund, participants took part in a workshop regarding DevOps. DevOps stands for software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops), and describes the practice and tools to integrate and automate the two. It is often described as a continuous process, the DevOps loop.

During the workshop, participants discussed questions concerning collection of DevOps-practice related data, data quality and validity, and the potential use of data. Participants highlighted several challenges and limitations in collecting and acting on DevOps data, and possible solutions that academic research could contribute to were taken up. Also the role of AI and visualization were discussed.
