The initiative, “Digital Arena Sweden,” is led by Lund University, Telia, Ericsson, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and AstaZero, and Future by Lund, in collaboration with a number of other stakeholders from industry, academia, and the public sector. The project is funded through the Advanced Digitalization innovation and collaboration program, with support from Vinnova.
“Through Lund University and LTH’s 5G and 6G testbeds and strong research environments, multiple stakeholders can gain access to advanced testing environments years before commercial 6G networks become available. Digital Arena Sweden is an asset for future excellence initiatives in connectivity and an enabler of groundbreaking research and innovation,” says Annika Olsson, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (LTH).
The foundation of the test center consists of digital infrastructure for advanced 5G, IoT, and AI, provided by Telia through its NorthStar innovation program and its national 5G network. A unique 6G test environment is included, led by Ericsson in collaboration with Lund University and KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The work is coordinated by the innovation platform Future by Lund.
